Such a fun game.

Oh I just saw the new layout. I love it.

But I also have two questions:

  1. will there be a printer friendly version again?
  2. What tools would you suggest to play it online?

Hi Mario!!! Thank you so much, I had way too much fun with the layout, haha.

To answer your questions (and sorry it took so long!):

1. Yes absolutely! As soon as I have the final version done.
2. I've tried quite a few and my favorite so far is the google jamboard!

Recently played this for the first time, and despite it being quite outside of our normal ballpark and having to very consciously repeatedly steer away from adding in lots of decidedly uncozy elements (blame our grimdark-reared brains) had a whale of a time. Heartily recommend.

Thank you so much!! I absolutely relate, writing this game was difficult for my grimdark brain too, haha.

I absolutely love this cozy game, I started Dm-ing for friends and they are making more stories of their characters. I'm guessing character comics are their next projects.

Aw I love this so much!!!

So Cozy Town is one of those game where playing doesn't need any ressources nor energy, actually it may even restore it !

The game design of it is simple, calming and elegant : create characters, a community and events. But always keep in mind that everything must be COZY.

From cozy tokens to cozy cards (well, I guess the cards are cozy too?), the design layout and art is just way too cute! You can also found greatly written Town oracles that can help you improvise what comes during the weeks.

Thanks to you, I also discovered The Quiet Year, one of the inspirations for this game.

Thanks for sharing this game :D

Thank you so much, I'm so glad this game has been a good experience for you! The Quiet Year is a phenomenal game and absolutely inspiring, I'm so glad you discovered it through Cozy Town!

Hello. :) This game is adorable. I noticed what looks like a small error on both the Fall and Winter oracle pages though: They both read "A Time of Reflection" and "Draw from the Clubs suit." I'm guessing it should read "Draw from the Spades suit" for Winter, along with Winter's unique text?

Thank you for catching that! I'll fix that in the next update <3

I check back here every so often to see if the last goal and the erratas were uploaded and I'm curious if those are still planned? The last update was from July, it seems.

Hello hello!

I'm planning to start up work again on Cozy Town and updating it around Feb next year!

I would have done it sooner but some intense mental health stuff happened around July that took months to recover from, and that slowed down the stretch goals fulfillment. But we should be back on track again soon!

Understood. I hope you're getting through it. Thank you so much for this cute little game. I've been soloing it to get through my own mental stuff. :)

This game is absolutely lovely, I'm looking forward to playing it! The art is wonderful and the game itself has such a great comfy feeling to it, I think I'm going to have a lot of fun both solo and with others.

As well, I wanted to ask, are you ok with the game being used for teaching? My mom has a small class (usually no more than 10 younger students) and would adore using a game like this for teaching interpersonal skills, if you're ok with it I would love to recommend the game to her! If not though, I completely understand. Either way, best of luck! 💖

Thank you so much for the kind words! There's even more lovely art coming and I'm so excited for it <3

And yes, I would be absolutely honored if this game was used for teaching! I used to teach too and I lot of what I learned I applied in this game, I'd love to hear how it goes in class.

(+1)

Thank you!! I'm sure she'll be excited to use it, I think it'll be a great time ^u^)/

That's an awesome perspective to use this game in a teaching environment ! Hope it went well and curious to know how it went/what were advantages/disadvantes of it :D

I would absolutely LOVE an actual printed edition of this - until that happens though ...

Hard same actually 😭 but figuring out printing options while I'm in the Philippines is so tough 😅

The solo journaling variant works extremely well! I've been writing about the weeks of a small community of hedgehogs, who have made friends with manatee scientists and deer herbalists. I find this exercise every few days calming, and it is excellent to have a journaling campaign!

Still going, currently in the middle of Fall. A recommendation I have for solo play, as one doesn't have others to take on extra narrative load, is to alter the turn actions a little. So on a turn after playing out the card drawn you can choose one of

  • grow or change a town feature, as before
  • have a friend of the town visit as before but without someone leaving the town temporarily
  • have someone leave the town temporarily
  • prepare for an event, as before.

When an event does happen, that is a special week without a card draw devoted to the event.

Without these changes the game became too stressful for me as a lone player, even just journaling one turn at a time.

I'm still having an excellent time and will report back after winter.

So sorry for the late reply, and thank you so much for playing! I love this suggestion, I'll take that into account when I update the game, thank you!

Cozy Town is a game where you and some friends make a town and residents that make you go *awwwwww*!! I love how cozy this game makes you feel right from the get-go. You're invited to wrap yourself up in blankets and make tea for optimum coziness (would recommend)!

The prompts are quite lovely, and lead to a really beautiful playthrough. Together we made Bloomington, a town of sentient flowers in the garden of a nice old lady (and her cat Clawdius). We didn't play through a whole year, but we saw the town grow so much regardless!

My favourite part was when the seedlings at the greenhouse school held an open day and science fair. They were so proud of their work, and they sang 'from little things, big things grow' :'''') so adorable.

Second favourite moment was when the queen bee of the second bee hive came out as a king bee. He resumes all his duties but is referred to as a king now! (Really liked that prompt, thanks Jammi!)

I also really liked the cozy tokens. The idea of actively appreciating and encouraging the cozy was so sweet! My heart felt very warm and cuddly.

All in all, such a sweet and cozy game. Perfect for a cold inside day so you can snuggle for extra coziness. But totally works in any temperature!

I definitely recommend this game, so wholesome and joyous!

Thank you Jammi for your wonderful creations!

Read through this for Game at a Glance, and highly recommend if you want an uplifting, delightful, narrative experience of exploring a world you and your friends can explore!

Myself and the chat went with making teddy bears that live on leaves!

It just filled me with the warm fuzzies and I cannot get the wait to actually play it.

I highly recommend this game!

I bought Cozy Town when the pandemic started. Since then, my significant other and I played it two times. We went with the suggestions: succulents guarding a grove and pigs living on an island.

What a delight! Both session took us several weeks, cause we were enthralled by the drawing part. I never felt this cozy after telling a story. The game also did a great job getting our mind off the current circumstances.

I really recommend this game, especially for everyone, who needs a bit more coziness right now!

Thanks, Jamila!

That sounds absolutely amazing, I'm so happy to read this! Thank you so much, I'm so glad this sincere little game could help you both create coziness for each other ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely game!
Our community of squirrels had a kite festival that was quite marvelous. Just saying. We've saved a few cookies and sweets just for you, enjoy!

Aw how sweet!  A kite festival sounds marvelous!

Love this! While I lean towards horror games, this is a refreshing change for when you just want to enjoy something delightful. If I could make one humble suggestion, it would be to remove the word “aspiring” from “aspiring game designer” in the credits - many of us aspiring game designers look up to you and your work!

I somehow missed this comment! Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️❤️❤️

I ran this for my very non-gamer family over a video call, a friend who just had a baby and can only do play-by-post, and am setting this up to run for a group over discord. Fantastic game, 10/10 cozy.

Aw this is so awesome, I'm so happy to hear this! ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much!

Love it. Played it tonight in a play-by-post format with my partner, and it was a cute, cozy, bonding, creative experience that we shared. :3

Aaawww that's so sweet! I'm so glad!

Very cute! Wholesome
