This looks super interesting! I’m very poor but would love to play, is there any chance you’ll add some community copies soon? (: I’d be happy to leave a rating for it.

this is cozy town 2.0 correct? will there be further updates in the future? thanks!

I facilitate games at a local arts nonprofit, and this is my favorite one to run for kiddos. They love using these rules to build towns (mostly out of mushrooms), fill them with their characters, (dragons, hipsters, and cryptids) and weave cozy stories together!

I'm very much looking forward to a print edition of these rules. Keep up the good work!

Can't wait for the printer version. Will an email go out announce it? I want to make it a holiday gift this year possibly, or birthday present for my sister (thankfully thats in September).

Hey, any chance for new community copies anytime soon?

(+1)(-2)

if you happen to notice any, could you pls reply to let me know too?

(+1)

love it :)

(+2)

Any update on the printer friendly version?

(+2)

I would love to know this as well. I've been holding off on buying it for this reason.

i'm in love with the concept of this game, but unfortunately i live in brazil and our currency is highly devalued ): if it were possible to add copies of the community, i'd really appreciate it

(+2)(-1)

same here

i adore this omg,,, i would love to actually buy it to give support but cant really afford to rn-

This is so lovely! It looks like such a cozy game for calm days in. I previously introduced my 11 yr old brother to ttrpgs and he found this one. I'm hoping to be able to get it for his birthday.

This game looks super cute. If you feel that it would be appropriate for kids after 7-10, I’d love to add it to my school journaling experiment for this coming year.  If so, would you consider sharing a community copy with me? Thanks!

just bought this and read through the rules, how cozy! i think i will be combining this with Iron Valley to create an Animal Crossing-esque experience for me and my mom to play together. thanks so much for your hard work!

Looks great!

I found this yesterday and bought a copy today - take my money! - and I freaking adore it. It's so beautiful and feels cozy even by reading the rules. The perfect little game to turn into some sort of text-game in a german Animal Crossing community - if I may? Also do you know if there is a german translation out there in the wild (saw a french one) or may I perhaps translate it myself? Sadly most of our little AC-community aren't very fluid in English.

Thank you so much for creating this wonderful TTRPG - and for sharing your inspiration for this. <3 I totally have no hoarding issue with TTRPG-frameworks or something like this ...

(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words!! And yes, please feel free to translate the game into German, I'd be happy if more folks got to play it! I really appreciate you checking in with me <3 If you could just credit me and link back to the game page that'd be great :D

(+2)(-2)

pls add more community copies I want to play it too bad :(

(+1)(-1)

I'm introducing my girlfriend to the wolrd of TTRPGs, and we're both soooo excited to try cozy town, it looks beautiful!!! Unfortunately, we're from Brazil and the minimum price (in dollars) is a small fortune here, so we won't be able to purchase it right now. But someday, maybe, and I'm looking forward to it :)

Im a budding game designer with an idea and a tight budget... I feel like this would really help my research! Will there be more Community Copies on the way soon? I'll leave a good review in exchange! 😁

Hihi! I just added a few more copies, but in case you miss them let me know and I can send a download key! I'm happy to share any of my other games with new designers so let me know if you're interested in any others. You can email me at swordqueenggames at gmail and I'll send over the codes <3

Community copies are free so don't feel obliged to leave a review, but I do hope the game helps! I based this design on A Quiet Year by Avery Alder, I also highly recommend checking out her games too.

(-1)

You have no idea how delighted and excited I am to have access to this, ever since seeing it's praises sung on Dicebreaker. I will definitely email you if I find anything else I'd like to study. Thank you thank you THANK YOU SQUEEEEEEE

Just wondering when will community copies be available?  I would love to try with my students whose English is their second language.  Most of the students like Animal Crossing so this seems like a wonderful concept to have them speak in English as most of them are quite shy.

Hello! I try to update community copies when I can but they do disappear quickly! I just put in a few more based on sales and ratings, in case you miss it let me know and I'll be happy to send over a download key!

Thank you! I just picked a community copy.  It really does look amazing and I cant wait to give it a read and try with some students.  Thanks again and I appreciate your time and  work very much!! <3

Any news/timeline on a printer friendly version?

(+3)

Hello!

As of this time it's roughly "at some point in 2023, hopefully", unfortunately! The last six months or so have been especially hard health wise and my productivity output isn't great! I can't afford to hire people to work on it, but I'll post an update when I can. Thanks for asking!

(+2)

Got it! Thanks for the quick response, and hope that 2023 brings you good health! ❤️

(+2)

Played my first game with my nieces over Thanksgiving, and now I'm elbow deep in making them a physical copy of the game as a birthday/Christmas gift.  Great job all around, for everyone involved.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO WHOEVER JUST ADDED COMMUNITY COPIES!!!!

No joke but I've been coming back to this page to stare longingly at the cute art every few days or so for about a week....I did not think I'd actually get a copy! I used to have the old free version but sadly I accidently deleted it awhile ago. I'm so SO happy right now!

I just saw this on Dicebreaker & knew we had to play it! This looks so fun and wholesome :)

(+1)

Super cute game with a very unique concept. Definitely a fun one to take a look at.

(+2)(-1)

Hi, I was wondering if more community copies would be added soon? Thank you!

So cozy! I plan to print the current pdf before playing. I heard the print version isn't out yet, is the current upload ok to print, or will it get all wonky?! I hope it will be fine :)

(+1)

ooooh I think the margins may be a little funny but fingers crossed that it comes out okay! I think all the text should be within printer bounds?

such a cute game. thank you, and everyone who bought / rated the game, for making community copies. everything about this, from the events to the colors, was perfectly cozy and adorable. what a blessing of a game ❤

thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️ I'm so grateful for everyone helping out with creating more community copies ✨

Hi there, I just saw this on an icebreaker video and it looks fantastic. I work at a primary school, do you think I could play this with special needs children? Will there be anymore community copies available? Thanks, Jimmy.

So sorry for the late reply!

I just went ahead and refreshed our community copies!

I'm not 100% sure if Cozy Town accommodates special needs, though I have heard of folks playing this game at all sorts of schools! Once you've grabbed a community copy please let me know if there's anything I can do to help the game be more inclusive for your students.

Thank you so much! In *case* the community copies run out before you can grab one, let me know and I'll be happy to send over a free download key!

(-1)

i just found out about this game, is there ever any community copies? looks pretty cute!

yes! I'll be updating community copies in a bit (it's a manual process unfortunately haha). in case you don't get to them in time let me know and I can set up a free download key for you!

I highly recommend this adorable worldbuilding game you guys. I have been using Cozy Town as a worldbuilding tool for my Wanderhome and Quest RPG.

I don't have to feel so bad having a subpar drawing skill when building in Cozy Town than most The Quiet Year hacks. Haha.

Awesome game, Rae!

(+1)

Sorry if I'm being rude, but will there be any community copies available? Looking at all the reviews and comments, I really wanted to try this game but shamefully I can't afford it.

Hello hello! thank you so much for the reminder, I'll go ahead and refresh the community copies! but in case they empty out before you get to it, please email me at swordqueengames@gmail.com and I'll get you a copy! ❤️

I appreciate you asking for a community copy!! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much!!! I was able to grab a copy! Can't wait to start digging in it! Really appreciates it!

I'm so glad!! I'll try my best to work on the final digital version soon! In the mean time I hope you enjoy the game!

I really love the cute and cozy vibes of Cozy Town. It is great for an afternoon of fun with friends, or for establishing a fun a friendly town for a larger campaign!

I made a short review video:

(+1)

Hi Jamila, I was wondering if there is a specific reason why the game is supposed to be played with 3-6 players. I'm currently wondering if it can be run as a duo game, but maybe there is something I am missing :)

I'd be super grateful to hear your thoughts about it.

(+1)

Ooh hey I just came here to see if anybody had done it as a duo, 'cause I've got a friend I'd like to play it with! I haven't played it at all yet, so I don't know how hard it would be to tweak any rules.

(+3)

Hello, thanks so much for asking!

The game plays perfectly fine as a duo game actually! It's just always nice to have at least a triangle (is that even the right term) of suggestions and opinions, but honestly I've played this as a duo game and lots of people have to <3 I'll mention such in the final version of the game for sure.

(+1)

Thank you! That was the impression I got upon reading it. It's always nice to have a trio, or larger groups, but that can be difficult to cobble together, and I've been looking for more 2 player games :)

(+3)

So played it online and we had such a lovely evening playing candy in a giant kitchen kabinet. Especially the summer holidays were such a wholesome story. Love this game.

(+2)

oh that's SUCH a good idea for a cozy town, I love that so much!!! Can I use this as an example in the final book?

(+2)

Yes of course.
